Hints and tips
- Make sure your boat is clean, and kept clean, not just when you put it on the market
- De-clutter your boat,no one likes tripping over boat hooks and oilies left in the heads make it
look cramped. If you can not put life jackets etc out of sight then take them home
- Remember what you felt like when you viewed your Moody, or how you feel about the boat you want
to buy.You dont want to be reminded that it belonged to someone else, so try and remove all the
personal bits and pieces that may not be to someone elses taste
- You want people to view your boat and the one thing that will convince them that the journey
is worthwhle is photos. Nice and clear showing the layout but also detail. Take as many as you can,
but please not pictures of the galley with the tea towel drying. If you have added anything, a new
chart plotter say, show it off.Take a close up of it.Remember if you boat is abroad it is essential
to have lots of good quality photos.
- In or out of the water. The jury is still out on this one. Out of the water it is logical that it
is easier to see the condition of the boat, however boat buying is an emotional business and most people
find it hard to get the 'feel' of a boat on the hard. So do what is best for you in terms of cost and
convenience.
